A manufacturer of machine tool threading
devices had three separate parts in their tapping spindle; composed of (1)
wire wound spring, (2) external threads and (3) a stem holding it
altogether. The customer was looking for a reliable adjusting unit that
was also cost effective for theme to use. Their purchasing department
needed to buy the three separate parts, Receiving had to inspect and
accept, place into inventory until Production was ready withdraw and
assemble the pieces into one unit. THE SOLUTIONThe HELI-CAL® Flexure was designed into a
one-piece spring which allowed for a cost saving. This eliminated the need
to purchase and inventory three items; assembly time was saved as well. THE ANSWER
