FLEXURE FACTS |
A customer (after receiving Helical's literature) called asking about a solution to a 90-degree application. The old unit had mechanical linkage causing the system to have a short life. The motor was mounted 90 degrees from a rotary table.
To illustrate the HELI-CAL® Flexure U-joint concept, a drawing was forwarded to the engineer for his review. Then a sample was supplied to test and evaluate. Because too much windup caused an erratic movement, a torsionally stiffer U-joint was needed. A second U-joint was designed and with improved torsional stiffness passed the test and evaluation.
