The HELI-CAL Flexure is extremely versatile in its ability to respond to your needs. The performance capability of each Flexure is dependent on two factors: coil configuration and material. By changing these factors, the obtainable characteristics of the HELI-CAL Flexure are almost unlimited. Coil configuration is determined by OD and ID of the Flexure, coil thickness, number of coils, and number of coil starts. And with our ability to generate the Flexure in a variety of materials, just the right strength, and torsional flexibility or rigidity required for the application is produced. While allowing our customers to exercise their own special skills and knowledge in their area of expertise, Helical furnishes the added feature of flexibility.

An example where the "generate only" option may be exercised is a customer’s assembly that has been in production for many years. Component wear occurs, arising from excessive rigidity. The customer needs some elasticity in their system, however the system lacks room for a flexible coupling. The solution is to integrate the HELI-Cal Flexure into an existing component to relieve the adverse loads from misalignment.
