The HELI-CAL® Flexure technology, applied to the design and manufacture of machined springs, can precisely match the workload and dimensional requirements for a broad spectrum of applications.
Machined springs can be manufactured to close dimensional tolerances which enhance performance and repeatability of the spring. Perhaps best of all, however, a machined spring can be made from a single piece of material which incorporates a customer’s specified attachment features. This can provide increased inventory efficiency and fewer parts, both of which translate into direct cost savings.
Helical manufactures flexible couplings, machined springs and u-joints. When used as a coupling or u-joint, the HELI-CAL Flexure employs a curved beam to transmit torque while compensating for lateral, axial and angular misalignments. Used as a machined spring, the curved beam provides controlled elastic performance in compression, torsion, lateral bending and lateral displacement modes. A variety of materials can be used, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
