SANTA MARIA, CA., March 15, 1999 -- Helical Products Company has designed a new line of torsionally stiff couplings to meet the exacting positioning requirements of servo motor applications. Called the "X Series," the new, single piece coupling is said to have the excellent performance characteristics of the metal bellows concept at cost competitive pricing. X Series couplings, Helical says, strike a cost effective balance between couplings that are too stiff radially and those not stiff enough torsionally for servo type applications. The coupling features high torsional sitffness, low radial loads, one-piece integrity, and zero backlash. A substantial parallel misalignment capability reduces the need for high precision alignment during assembly operations.
