The inspiration for the HELI-CAL® Flexure, the cylindrical helix ingredient for our basic Helical product lines, came from the observation that one piece, "flexured" flexible couplings offered maximum versatility in terms of form, function, and reliability.

Over time, the adaptability of the HELI-CAL Flexure has helped solve thousands of mechanical misalignment and motion control problems.

The unique, mechanical characteristics of the "Flexure" have enabled Helical Products Company, Inc. to develop a series of highly versatile, "flexured" products which can compensate for irregularities such as angular and skewed misalignment, parallel offset, and axial motion. All of this can be accomplished while maintaining constant rotational velocity and smooth bearing loads.

Helical's product lines today include miniature flexible couplings/couplers, u-joints, machined springs, power transmission flexible couplings, plus, accessory products such as bore reducers, adapter hubs, shaft collars, and solid couplings.

This website presents the many advantages of HELI-CAL Flexure technology. The charts, data, and information are based on our "standard" series of one-piece, flexible couplings, which are usable for a multidude of applications. Please keep in mind these charts are made up of a sampling of common relieved bores for each series, with non-relieved bores also available as an option. Each series can accommodate metric/english and mixed bore combinations.

As you become acquainted with the Flexure, you will see how versatile it can be, with for example, specials, machined springs, u-joints, and attachments.
